1)There are 10 School Districts in BC that are actively practicing fundamental shifts in assessment practices. Courtenay/Comox, Surrey, and Gold Trail are all good examples of changes. Research one of these districts’ web presence to explore how assessment is viewed and managed in the classroom. Will this research affect your job search in any way?
2)Check out www.Freshgrade.ca to view the platform that Surrey is using in leiu of report cards. What are your thoughts/feelings/impressions of this system?
3)JordanTinney is currently the superintendent of Surrey, but prior to that he was the superintendent to Courtenay/Comox and has spearheaded the move towards no grade assessment and electronic reporting in both of these regions.
